    There are twenty-five eggs in this clutch.  They were laid March 23, 2007.  You notice that you cannot see the eggs.  We bury our eggs to more closely simulate the original burial by the mother.  With the eggs on the surface less vigorous fry hatch and they fail to thrive.  Our burial ensures that only the strongest, most successful lizards emerge.  We expect to have 20 of the 25 eggs hatch.
